To All of Our Customers:
It is amazing! By now most of you have either read or heard about the Wall Street Journal article that chronicles our
challenges. While the article puts names and faces to our trying time, our story is not finished.
J.W. Hulme has endured two World Wars, the Great Depression, and countless downturns in the
economy, and although 2008 posed some new and greater challenges, we will continue to uphold our
commitment to a great American tradition of hand-crafted leather bags and luggage.
It has been humbling and inspiring to hear from hundreds of our customers, each with their
own story of support, and to each and everyone who have phoned and emailed us. We are grateful.
We always believed our company’s approach to personal service and unsurpassed quality was a
unique experience in our fast paced world of commerce. We wanted to take our customers back to a
time where customers were greeted with a human voice on the phone, and every product sold was
the result of our company’s passion and dedication to preserving an American heritage that was
slipping away from our culture.
We’d also like to share with you, our customers, a glimpse of the future; we will have new
products and new leathers in 2009. We will continue to produce the highest quality leather goods
found in the world. 2009 will be a watershed moment for this great little company and its loyal
customer base.
It is indeed amazing!
The J.W. Hulme Company
