J. W. Hulme Company Ships its 100,000th Corporate Gift
The dwindling American manufacturing base has fueled a surge of interest in the J.W. Hulme Company's US made full grain leather and canvas bags for use as corporate gifts.
St. Paul, MN, July 25, 2007 -- J. W. Hulme Company, a 100 year old manufacturer of high-end leather and canvas soft goods, announced this week a new milestone by shipping its 100,000th corporate gift as part of a promotional program for Nestle Purina, a global pet product manufacturer.
Company President, Chuck Bidwell spoke to an emerging trend when he revealed the company’s corporate gift achievement, “giving an American made product for promotional endeavors or incentive programs has quickly become the fashionable way to do business”.
Corporate gifts have long been a company staple, but the dwindling American manufacturing base has fueled a surge of interest in the company’s products.
The handcrafted products have found their way into the corporate board rooms of many companies and with traditional embossing, this personalizing of their bags has elevated its leather products as gift of choice. Aside from supporting major conservation organizations with their fundraising, J.W. Hulmes’ classic leather bags have been distributed by the NFL Alumni Group for their charitable fundraising efforts, presented as tee prizes for major Pro/Am Golf tournaments, and bundled as thank you gifts by a British auto manufacturer.
"This is not a throwaway gift item!" enthused one impressed recipient. "I'll use this folio in meetings for years to come." And he will, because these products are made of full grain leather and have been known to outlast the organization presenting them.
J. W. Hulme Company was founded in 1905 to make canvas products. Seventy-five years later the first bag was inspired by an heirloom bag owned by the company’s chief designer, Norton Cross, and they began manufacturing a line of sporting bags sold under the Gokey's and Orvis brands. In 1996 the company dedicated themselves to preserving and broadening the bag collection by designing, producing and branding the line under the J. W. Hulme Company name. Products are sold to devoted customers through retail outlets, catalog and the company's website. Each year has seen new innovations in design and materials, while making a statement of traditional elegance.
In 2005 J. W. Hulme Company celebrated their centennial.
